Villa Mimosa

Our firm was engaged to provide design services after the existing historical building had undergone a substantial renovation. After decades of abandonment, the property was mostly a dirt lot with a ramshackle building, neglected trees and unimpressive landscape. We approached the project as having a blank canvass and designed several conceptual master plans for our client to select the preferred layout. Our scope of services also included designing lighting and planting plans, and construction detailing.
Once the design was finalized, Firma Design Group provided construction administration services including managing the construction schedule, reviewing contractor invoices, coordinating all trades and materials on site, and acting as client representative while our client was out of country during the first month of construction.
Our landscape improvements accommodate hospitality guests with memorable outdoor spaces, site amenities, and vibrant landscaping. An easy to navigate circular driveway delivers guests to their destination and is complete with a centrally located Tuscan style fountain. Olive and cypress trees line the decorative gravel driveway to reinforce the villa theme and frame the entry experience. The sound of lightly splashing water enhances the calm and serene ambiance of the property. Great views of the surrounding vineyards and mountains are taken in from intimate outdoor patios.
"I faced a challenging landscape design project for a little Bed and Breakfast property we recently bought and remodeled.  The building itself was nothing too exciting so we needed the outside spaces to provide a lot of sparkle.  My wife and I (as usual) had very different ideas about what should be done, and our ideas morphed and changed as the project developed.  Our timing turned out to be terrible, and we had to leave for a long-scheduled extended trip just as work needed to start.

Given this situation, the folks at Firma did a great job with the design, with handling our conflicting desires, and with managing the initial part of the construction in our absence.  Not only are my wife and I both happy with the result, but all our guests are very impressed – and the online images of the outdoor spaces definitely help sell the rooms.  I was happy enough with their work to hire them later to update the landscaping at our house.

Thanks, Firma!"
