The firm was contracted to provide planning and landscape architecture design services for the Plaza Park restoration, the Mt. Diablo / Moraga Road / Plaza Way Street Improvements, and Façade Restoration of historic buildings located along Plaza Way.
Some of the initial project tasks included site assessment and evaluations, attendance at public meetings, conducting public workshops, and consensus building. The primary goal for the project was a successful renewal of the park and reconfiguration of the historic town center. During the design process, our firm met with more than 13 different City and public interest groups in order to garner support and provide the necessary momentum for the project.
Scope of Services included assisting the City of Lafayette with developing Street Tree Standards; streetscape improvements; providing a large open space in Downtown; creating convertible spaces which the city would be able to use as parking or special events; and installing large pergolas for shade. The team of consultants we worked in conjunction with included an architect and a traffic engineer.
